STEP ON IT: Emergency shoe shopping was the first fashion week assignment for Los Angeles-based “Jane By Design” actress India de Beaufort. “I had to go to Bloomingdale’s today. My luggage melted after the flight. They think it fell off the baggage truck, was dragged under a wheel and the friction caused it to melt,” she said before Nicole Miller’s show Friday.


The British-born de Beaufort will catch Emerson, Milly and Betsey Johnson, who made a cameo on Jane by Design.


Her seat mate, Meredith Ostrom, is busy making paintings of human butterflies for her art show in April. “I take women, cover them in paint and press them against canvas,” she explained, adding that her work is splayed out in a four-page spread in Rankin’s new magazine The Hunger.


Nylon magazine’s Dani Stahl is also making double-time. Hopeful that E will pick up “Scouted” for a second season, she is still keeping her day job and designing red carpet jewelry for the Lia Sophia collection.
