'Fresh and Young' at Armani Privé

Linda Cantello and Peter Gray conceived the beauty look.

PARIS — Taking a cue from the Armani Privé show’s red, black and white palette, makeup artist Linda Cantello went for a monochromatic beauty look.

Models’ eyelids got a smudge of black, which extended out like smoky wings. Their brows were spread out a bit and faces made pale “but still natural, still transparent,” she said. Lips, meanwhile, were dabbed with color.

“For me it’s like a modern couture,” said Cantello, who used — among other products, Giorgio Armani’s Zero Maestro, which has yet to come out, and Eye & Brow Maestro.

Hairstylist Peter Gray called the look “young and fresh. It’s about creating a silhouette and a texture.” Giorgio Armani wanted an easy approach, so Gray created two small rolls on the sides of models’ heads and then knotted hair at the back of their heads.

“It’s as flat a knot as possible; it’s not a chignon,” he qualified. “We’re working with a very, very soft texture.”

Gray crafted a low, irregular side part and fluffy, sweeping bangs.

Key products included L’Oréal Professionnel’s Tecni.Art Volume Constructor spray.
