I.D. CHECK: Terry and Tricia Jones, the founders of i-D magazine, are to be honored with an Outstanding Achievement Award at this evening’s British Fashion Awards ceremony.
The award from the British Fashion Council comes 33 years after the husband-and-wife team launched i-D as a fanzine to chronicle Britain’s street style. Before founding the title in 1980, Terry Jones had spent time assisting the graphic designer Ivan Dodd and serving as the art director of British Vogue.
Last year, Vice Media purchased i-D with plans to create a video-driven fashion channel. The magazine’s new Web site, i-d.co, launched last month.
