SUNDAY BEST: Karl Lagerfeld made a splash in Germany on Sunday: He acted as guest editor in chief of the broadsheet Welt am Sonntag. The issue has a luxury theme and Lagerfeld contributed a plethora of his inimitable illustrations, including one of a smiling Chancellor Angela Merkel and her coalition partners.
The style section has a feature on the big Cartier exhibition opening at the Grand Palais in Paris this week, and Lagerfeld sketched himself with a big jeweled brooch from 1925 punctuating his necktie.
In the economics section, Lagerfeld lists a few of his personal luxuries: a good night’s sleep, reading and time for oneself.
