FASHION TV: Europe’s Arte channel is airing a three-part documentary series about fashion. Shot by French journalist Olivier Nicklaus and produced by fashion personality Mademoiselle Agnès with David Berdah, it charts the past three decades of fashion history.
Nicklaus has delved into France's National Audiovisual Center (INA) archives and peppered his documentary with new interviews of designers including Jean Paul Gaultier, Claude Montana and Christian Lacroix.
The first episode, titled “Golden Eighties,” focusing on French designers Thierry Mugler, Claude Montana, Azzedine Alaïa and Gaultier, is set to air on Oct. 20 at 10.35 p.m. CET, followed by second episode called “Antifashion” on the minimalist Nineties with Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, Martin Margiela and Ann Demeleumeester. The third episode, “Go Global,” is set to air on Oct. 27 at 10.25 p.m. CET.
