For Kiev’s recently held Mercedes-Benz Fashion Days, troops of designers, editors, models and stylists trekked far from the city’s center to a car-dealership-turned-runway to support their motherland’s creative generation. Only two years old, the event has emerged as a destination for young Ukrainian designers to showcase their work to buyers and journalists from Western Europe and the U.K. A wide variety of looks came along with the territory, ranging from trendy mixed patterns, furs and sequins to traditional babushka scarves. One commonality? Smoking still appears to be very much in vogue.
