JAGGER MEETS WESTWOOD: Vivienne Westwood has chosen Georgia May Jagger as the face of the new fine jewelry collection she’s created with the International Palladium Board, called the Gainsborough Palladium jewelry collection. Photographer Juergen Teller shot a Jagger in his signature pared-down style for the campaign, which will launch in November.
The collection itself is made up of delicate necklaces, earrings and rings crafted in filigree-style shapes from the white precious metal, with some pieces set with diamonds and sapphires. The line comprises a three-piece couture collection, which will be made to order, and a six-piece commercial collection, which retails from 250 pounds, or $404 for a pair of earrings through to 780 pounds, or $1,262 for a necklace. The pieces will make their runway debut during Paris Fashion Week Saturday, as part of Westwood’s spring 2013 Gold Label show, and will launch at Westwood’s U.K. stores and via viviennewestwood.com from mid-October.
The Gainsborough collection follows the Get A Life palladium collection that Westwood launched with the International Palladium Board last year, which was inspired by nature and pagan symbols, such as the acorn, the oak tree and the heart.
The ongoing collaboration with Westwood is part of the International Palladium Board’s Palladium Visions campaign, which has seen the organization collaborate with artists and designers including Lara Bohinc, Hussein Chalayan and master’s students at Central Saint Martins to create new designs from the precious metal.
