SPACE RACE: Look who’s back on the Paris men’s wear calendar: Pierre Cardin. The Space Age designer will be among dozens of international names parading spring 2013 collections in the French capital from June 27 to July 1.
“I was one of the first designers to show men’s wear on the runway,” said Cardin, who founded his company in 1950 and presented his first men’s collection, based on the Cylinder line, on 250 French students in 1960.
His latest show is slated to take place July 1 at the Palais de la Bourse, site of Paris’ Tranoï trade show. Also new to the men’s calendar is the British brand Hardy Amies, scheduled for June 27.
