LONE STAR LADIES’ MAN: There’s something about Houston for Rolando Santana. The designer was so pleased with his runway show last November at Fashion Houston that returned Thursday for an 18-look runway show of his fall collection at Elizabeth Anthony | Esther Wolf. “One client right after the show booked eight different looks, which was a really nice way to close the evening,” Santana said. “I’m telling you, the women here are very serious about dressing.”
Santana also greeted shoppers in the store Friday, when another customer ordered a $22,000 ensemble of a grey mink jacket with a suede top and skirt. The show at two more days to go and had already hit $75,000 in bookings, a spokeswoman said.

Business is so good for the Mexican-born, New York-based designer that he’s moving the company into an 8,000 square-foot showroom at 344 West 38th Street, more than triple his current space a few doors away. “We’ll be holding our runway shows in house,” he noted.
Elizabeth Anthony | Esther Wolf, is also growing: the shop is adding 2,000 square feet this summer and picking up Zac Posen, MaxMara and Costume National, among others. The expanded store will be 7,000 square feet.
Santana started five years ago with a contemporary line that he renamed Rolo and Ale (pronounced “alley”) to distinguish it from his higher-end namesake label.
