MARGIELA’S NEW HANG-UP: Maison Martin Margiela is expanding its design footprint. The French fashion house is to launch a collection of wallpaper with Omexco, the Belgian luxury wall coverings producer.
It’s based on five motifs ranging from Margiela’s signature trompe l’oeil effects to gold- and silver-enhanced marble mosaic prints.
The fashion brand with a penchant for up-cycled materials has come upon a like-minded partner. Omexco is known for its environmentally friendly production built on the use of solar energy for printing and the use of materials made from recycled fibers.
The wallpaper collection will be available starting at the end of April in some 3,000 design stores worldwide. Prices range from 50 euros, or $69 at current exchange, per meter to 800 euros, or $1,100, for a garage door-sized panel of the Paésine motif version, which mimics Tuscan limestone.
