FILSON’S ON TIME: Filson is partnering with Shinola to launch the brand’s first watch collection, which will make its debut in October. Following the lead of Shinola, its brother company under the Bedrock Manufacturing umbrella, the watch collection, which includes four case designs and 20 styles, will be crafted by hand and American-made in Detroit. “The collection was designed taking into account the three pillars of Filson — Made in USA, built with purpose and built to last,” said Alan Kirk, Filson’s chief executive officer.
The four watches are the Mackinaw Field watch; the RiverMaster, which includes a unidirectional turning top ring in both three-hand and chronograph versions; the Journeyman, which provides GMT function, and the Bush Pilot, which has a world timer.
The collection includes a limited-edition Mackinaw Field watch, which will come with a crystal guard that provides added protection and a button compass built by Cammenga, the official supplier of compasses for the U.S. military. Straps will be made with Filson’s signature materials, including tin cloth, Mackinaw wool and bridle leather. The collection will retail from $550 to $950 and will be sold in Filson and Shinola stores, as well as on filson.com and shinola.com.
