Everything But Water to Acquire Aqua Beachwear

The combined retail chain will total 93 stores across 26 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

EVERYTHING BUT WATER MAKES ACQUISITION: Specialty swimwear and resortwear retailer Everything But Water has agreed to acquire Aqua Beachwear, a retailer with 15 stores located at vacation destinations.

The combined retail chain will total 93 stores across 26 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. According to Randy Blumenthal, one of two controlling shareholders, no determination has been made yet whether the Aqua Beachwear stores will keep its nameplate or whether some will be converted to the Everything But Water name. Don Bauer of Aqua Beachwear will become a senior member of the Everything But Water team. Mary Bauer has elected not to continue with the operation.

Blumenthal and Sabra Krock acquired Everything But Water from Fortress Investment Group, which became the owner of the business following the retailer’s bankruptcy filing in 2009.
