ROYAL TOUR WRAPS UP: As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrapped up their nine-day royal tour of South East Asia Wednesday, another European magazine has published the controversial topless photographs of Kate.
The Swedish title Se & Hoer (See & Hear) has already published the images, and its Danish sister publication said it would also publish the shots later this week. Their publication comes after a French civil court granted an injunction Tuesday against the publishers of the French title Closer, preventing further publication and sales of the photos of the duchess in France. French police have also opened an investigation into whether shooting the images was a breach of the royals’ privacy.
Kim Henningsen, chief editor of Danish Se & Hoer, told the British Press Association that 60 to 70 of the 240 images he was offered will run in the magazine’s 16-page supplement on Thursday. Henningsen didn’t reveal who sold the photos to the title or what the magazine paid for them.
The duke and duchess are understood to be considering a variety of measures to prevent further distribution of the topless photos. Meanwhile, Kate and William have kept traditionally stiff upper lips throughout the controversy, smiling their way through the South Pacific. The last few days of their tour saw them dancing in grass skirts and crowns (with Kate wearing an Alice by Temperley embroidered dress) in the remote island cluster of Tuvalu. As they stopped in Brisbane on their way back to England, the duchess wore a Project D London floral dress, before changing into leggings, a plain knit top and a Temperley scarf for the next leg of their journey.
