OPEN DIOR POLICY: Orlando Bloom, spotted rifling the racks at the Dior Homme boutique in Paris on Thursday night, was probably scouting some front-row togs. Word has it the actor will be among VIPs at Dior’s women’s fashion show Friday.
While rumors have been rife in Paris that Dior would make an announcement about John Galliano’s successor during Paris Fashion Week, chief executive Sidney Toledano assured that’s “several weeks” away. He would not be drawn into specifics.
Marc Jacobs is still seen as the frontrunner for the job, though talks have been tough and recently at a standstill, sources said. Meanwhile, Toledano assured that business at Dior is good. “The fall-winter collection is doing very well,” he said, flashing a big smile. Bill Gaytten, Dior’s studio head, is expected to take the bow at today’s show.
