RETRO APPEAL: Dallas’ Forty Five Ten is making a commitment to vintage by presenting a monthly group of fashions from Decades, the Los Angeles bastion of vintage fashions and celebrity consignments. The first shipment that just landed offers Seventies and Eighties silk blouses by the likes of Hermes, Celine and Yves Saint Laurent. Future deliveries call for black-and-white evening wear in October, which caters to the theme and dress code of that month’s annual Two x Two for AIDS and Art, a chic benefit supported by Forty Five Ten co-owner Brian Bolke. Coats and furs largely from the Fifties are set for November, followed by Chanel in December. The collaboration deepens the stores’ 10-year partnership of Forty Five Ten hosting trunk shows of special pieces from Decades. Bolke is editing the monthly collections with Decades co-owner Cameron Silver. “People are really wanting more unique and one-of-a-kind items,” Bolke said. “We felt this was the right opportunity to have a constant presence in the store instead of doing special events. We like the idea of rotating it out monthly so there is a sense of discovery to it.”
