CFDA SOURCES: The Council of Fashion Designers of America is teaming with Fashion Institute of Technology and The Garment District NYC to support its annual CitySource showcase. The Jan. 14 event at FIT’s Conference Center is meant for designers and brands to get to know more than 65 local manufacturers.

This year’s effort will be bolstered by the CFDA’s Fashion Manufacturing Initiative (FMI), which enables fashion facilities to obtain funding via matching grants for innovative equipment, technology upgrades, capital improvements, workforce training and professional development programming. The initiative is geared to increase business growth within the industry and elevate the level of New York City-based production resources.
