Giorgio Armani is planning a presentation of some of his past designs, selecting specific looks that mark historical moments over the past 10 years.
"I went back and saw that I had designed some (Salvador) Dalì-inspired accessories — à la Schiaparelli — five or six years ago," said the designer during a press conference with the Italian press in Beijing on Thursday morning, before his fashion show event to be held that evening. Armani is mulling the idea of holding the exhibition in Milan during fashion week in the near future.
He also expressed concern about the damages caused by the earthquake in Italy that affected a number of entrepreneurs and their workers, collapsed under structures that did not weather the recurring shakes. Armani, who has some manufacturing plants in the Modena area, said these had not suffered, but that he would continue to monitor the situation and make sure everyone is safe.

"It's all very complicated in Italy, it's psychologically tough," said the designer about the sheds that had collapsed, that have no connection to Armani and that are under investigation to determine whether regulations had been followed to make the buildings earthquake-proof. "There are no more certainties," said Armani. "Even regarding the Pope?" prompted one reporter, referring the scandal connected to leaked Vatican information. "Yes, even for him," quipped the designer.
